Position Description
JOB SUMMARY
Provides staff coordination and support for the planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of community cancer control initiatives through the effective management of volunteer resources in assigned geographic area with emphasis on implementation through partnerships, collaborations, and priority systems, where appropriate. Implements CRM Principles as standard business practice.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
. Provides coordination and support for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of community cancer control initiatives to attain pre-established goals in assignment.
. Develops and monitors community action plans for implementing Division Cancer Control priorities and established Division Plan of Work within assignment.
. Communicates the Division’s strategic direction for cancer control to staff, volunteers, and related groups.
. Establishes and maintains an effective community volunteer structure to support cancer control initiatives. Develops appropriate partnerships, collaborations and volunteer support to advance the priorities of the organization.
. Builds relationships with priority community-based organizations to identify, develop and promote effective cancer prevention and control policies, programs and activities through strong partnerships and collaboration with emphasis on cancer control priorities and the Division Plan of Work.
. Promotes organizational policy change and deliver initiatives that enable priority systems to maximize organizational/system cancer control through prevention, early detection and quality of life initiatives as identified by assigned priorities. Plans and facilitates strategic planning sessions for prioritized system relationships to ensure coordination of initiatives.
. Provides staff support to various committees and groups in assignment.
. Serves as staff liaison to health organizations and community partnerships to benefit the mission of the American Cancer Society. Collaborates both internally and externally to support and implement a strong Division Plan of Work.
. Serves on ACS priority relationship account teams to further organizational priorities and achieve high impact results. Ensures all contacts with prioritized relationship are coordinated and maximized with cancer control, income, and volunteer opportunities.
. Completes required records and reports in a timely fashion.
. Works in partnership with Income Development and Volunteer Involvement to leverage organizational priorities.
. Ensures ACS branding standards and image are incorporated into all initiatives.
. Undertakes related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in education, health, or related field, or equivalent. Proven program development, planning, and implementation skills and experience. Demonstrated volunteer recruitment and management skills. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills. Travel required.
