Social/Clinical Research Specialist
The primary purpose of this position is to review and abstract medical record data (demographics, history and extent of disease, diagnostic procedures, initial and follow-up treatment, and outcome) on patients consented to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center Tissue Procurement Protocol and/or the UNC Cancer Survivorship study. The individual may also assist in data abstraction for other IRB-approved protocols, as needed. Data will be entered into a secure database. The individual will also work with the North Carolina Central Cancer Registry (CCR) of the State Center for Health Statistics (SCHS) to obtain necessary information. Some travel may also be required to facilities participating in the tissue procurement protocol in order to review patient records and pathology reports on site.
This position may also assist the Rapid Case Ascertainment Core staff at the CCR with the gathering and reporting of data on North Carolina cancer patients for epidemiological case-control research studies. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and cancer staging principles are required. The ideal candidate will have a college degree in an allied health field with certified courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology and/or be a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or CTR eligible.

Cancer Registry Operations Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled North Carolina-based regional cancer registry operations manager. Candidate must have leadership experience in all aspects of cancer registry operations. Position will involve various aspects of on-site registry management, remote abstracting, as well as some travel.
Qualified candidates must be a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) . Computer knowledge, including experience with data-management applications as well as strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills needed. More than 3 years previous cancer registry abstracting experience required, 5 years preferred. Candidate must have experience working in an ACoS-CoC approved hospital, preferably a teaching facility.
