Assistant Professor – Radiation Oncologist

Posting Description: Nature of Work: The Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a radiation oncologist to specialize in the treatment of breast and gynecological malignancies. In addition to clinical responsibilities, this physician will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the department in terms of research and teaching responsibilities. Professional Field: This position requires the completion of a residency in radiation oncology. This position requires someone to be able to obtain licensure for the practice of medicine within the State of Colorado and obtain privileges at our participating hospitals. Supervision Received: This is a full time position reporting to the Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology. Supervision Exercised: Not applicable Examples of Work Performed: The radiation oncologist in the position is expected to see and treat patients with gynecologic and breast cancer. They will also be required to see urgent or emergency patients with other diagnoses as the need arises. Physicians within the department take share night and weekend call. All physicians are also expected to take turns covering our satellite facility in Lone tree, Colorado. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: This position would preferably be filled by someone with demonstrated experience and expertise in the treatment of breast and gynecological malignancies. This could be demonstrated by prior research or peer-reviewed publications in these fields. Intra-operative skills as they pertain to gynecologic malignancies are necessary.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications): This person must be either certified by the American Board of Radiology, or have an accepted equivalent, or be board eligible. Board eligible applicants are expected to pass their board exams within 3 years of completion of their residency program.

Desired Qualifications: This position would preferably be filled by someone with demonstrated experience and expertise in the treatment of breast and gynecological malignancies.
