Eligibility:
-Applicants must have (or expect to obtain) right of residence in Australia, be medically qualified or a graduate of a scientific or health science discipline, and intend to work in Queensland.
-A Queensland institution, qualified to hold research grants, must be willing to house the applicant and their research program for the duration of the fellowship, and the applicant must also have a sponsor, who will normally be the head of the department division or section of the academic institution in which the applicant wishes to work.
-Persons who are applicants for, or in receipt of, tobacco industry funding are not eligible to apply for, or receive funding from, Cancer Council Queensland. Staff of institutions receiving funding from the tobacco industry will also not be eligible to apply for, or receive funding from, Cancer Council Queensland.
Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: Senior Research Fellowships are five-year, fixed term, non-renewable appointments that aim to help build the career of senior researchers with a clear commitment to cancer research. Applicants are invited from researchers actively engaged in research in cancer. Appointees to the fellowship would be expected to assist with the promotion in the community of Cancer Council Queensland research activities.
